I will never forget the lesson I learned at one of our F.A.C.E.S (For A Child's Eternal Salvation) meetings it was on waiting. We all wait for something whether it is a job interview, meeting your future spouse, a child, a doctors report, anything, we all at some point wait but it is HOW we wait that people watch. Remember that saying "actions speak louder than words" it could not be any truer. Other Christians and especially non believers are watching your every move, our every move. Mike & I don't wait perfectly but we are waiting the best we know how according to God's word. It is during the wait that we can minister to others maybe that's why we are chosen to wait, doesn't make it any easier but makes the wait worth it.
Psalm 37: 7-8
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm.
Psalm 40:1-3
1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the LORD.
