Sorry for the delay in updates I'm sure you're wondering how the first home study went....It was great but overwhelming. The dossier packet and immigration packet was given to us to start and it can be a bit much when you flip through it so we are taking it day by day and getting done what we can. I am working on the immigration packet while Mike is finding the resources for getting our fingerprints done (has to be FBI regulated which is a bit more complicated) and finding us a psychologist (hopefully through his work) to evaluate us. Crazy right? Other sections in the dossier included a letter of intent to adopt from Colombia, medical/health evaluation, employee reference, birth & marriage certificates and other legal documents. All documents have to be notarized and then sent to the Secretary of State (Colorado & Florida) to be apostilled. Once the apostilled papers are sent pack to us and our home study completed every piece will be translated to Spanish and sent off to Colombia to be reviewed. We hope to have the dossier completed by the last home study which is scheduled for December 1. Our second home study is tomorrow night (Thursday Nov.18) and it will include a joint interview.
The real reason for delay on my blogging is that we took a nice week long, much needed vacation to Colorado and then to Vegas. We spent time with Mike's family and friends in Littleton where I experienced their first snow! It's amazing the way the weather changes, one day riding bikes the next day a blizzard in Breckenridge! We didn't take home any wins from Vegas but we came back refreshed and ready to start the paper chase!
