seek and you shall find

Mike and I finally came to a decision! We are adopting domestically. God answered are prayers and sometimes it is not in the way you expect of course I pray that my own womb would carry our precious child, I prayed that someone else womb would carry our biological child, I prayed for the women in Colombia, and I prayed that God would just grant us with a baby at our front door! God answers prayers in 3 ways yes, no, not yet. Our answer was yes! Ok not at our front door but pretty darn close, like Tampa close, in our own city. Thank the Lord!

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

We feel confident in our decision to move from our current agency into the hands of a local domestic agency. Oh the process is so much easier! We had to put together a profile book that birth parents will look at to "pick" the family for their child. This is much different than international adoption where we were a number and when your time came up in the waiting list you received your child. Guaranteed but a very long wait. Here the birth parents choose you and therefore the wait could be a week up to a year. It was difficult to choose pictures and tell about ourselves knowing that is going to be the ultimate decision maker. The book is done I just have to figure out how to upload it here. The other obstacle is deciding what we are open to in terms of drug use by the mother and genetic disorders. We are still in prayer on this and researching the effects on the baby but we know this too is in God's hands.
So I knew it wouldn't be long and it really is amazing once I let it go, literally put the paperwork aside and focus on other things is when the puzzle pieces came together. We are excited to get back on our journey...
