February has been a month of love, love from family and friends. That has not really surprised us but some have gone above and beyond what you sometimes expect. Don't you love unexpected gestures? In the beginning of the month I received one of those gestures. Someone I had known for years, and knows our "situation" offered to meet with Mike & I to discuss the possibility of being a surrogate for us. Before I say anymore we did not go out looking for a surrogate nor was that a thought as we embark on the journey for our child however I do believe God puts people in your path for a reason and for someone to offer such a gift we thought it was worth the time to do our homework on it. I knew long before this was a option that I would never use an agency to find a surrogate I always said it would have to be family or friend as I don't feel right "renting" out someones womb. I wanted it to be a sincere gesture and made on the decision of giving life not making money. After Mike & I meet with them we knew all hearts were in the right place and for a few weeks I have to say it became a real option. We prayed over our options and for this couple for God to work through all of us as we make the best decision. I'm here to say prayer works and we have our answer it's a sweet baby that is going to born somewhere, without us but not without the love of her/his Father. Although that sounds scary we felt peace, still another loss, but walking in faith.
Romans 5
1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we
boast in the hope of the glory of God.
3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
4 perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
